Honesty & Transparency  

What we do: 

• Bloomborn carefully reviews vendors before featuring their products in our shop. This may include (but isn't limited to): reading vendor reviews, contacting past patrons, ordering test products from the vendor, messaging the vendor to confirm their details, and researching vendor websites.
• We pick vendors who self-claim to: participate in fair-trade practices, be a sole proprietor or small artist collective, use recyclable and/or renewable resources, be founded by women, 2SLGTBQ+ community members, and/or BIPOCs, support supply-chain transparency by disclosing where they get their materials.  
• Support supply chain transparency. You can reach out directly to our vendors if you'd like! Just send an email to hello@bloomborn.com and we'll send you a list of our current vendors if you prefer to do your own research. 
• Above all, please know that we take our vendors' word for their sustainability and ethical practices. Our research process is not perfect, and we do not claim to be 100% sure that all materials are ethically and sustainably sourced.

 

What we don't do:

• We do not enter into any accountability contracts.
• We do not do physical site visits.  
• We do not meet vendors face to face. 
• We don't claim any vendors' beliefs, opinions, operating practices, marketing materials, etc. as our own. We are not mutual partners in any way. Our vendors are completely independent of Bloomborn. 
• We don't craft any products in-house.    

We we hope to do: 

• As we grow, we hope to be able to physically visit and meet all of our vendors. This helps add an extra layer of accountability that each vendor is following the sustainability and fair trade practices. 
• We hope to enter into mutual partnerships with vendors that include accountability contracts. This adds an extra layer of protection to ensure that wages are distributed fairly to artisans so that we can stay true to our sustainability promise. 
• Find more vendors with affordable prices, because we believe that fairness and sustainability should be attainable regardless of anyone's socioeconomic status.   
• Host our website on a carbon neutral server. 
• Produce our own products, to be 100% certain that they live up to our honesty and transparency promises.
